Resident Coordinator Office

The UN Country Team (UNCT) Liberia is led by the UN Resident Coordinator who takes the lead on common issues that require us to speak with one voice and present a common UN position. He also promotes joint decision-making among the UNCT.

Resident Coordinators, who are funded and managed by UNDP, lead UN country teams in more than 130 countries and are the designated representatives of the Secretary-General for development operations. Working closely with national governments, Resident Coordinators and country teams advocate the interests and mandates of the UN system while drawing on the support and guidance of the entire UN family.
The UN Resident Coordinator for Liberia Mr, Yacoub El Hillo  also serves as Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General(DSRSG), Humanitarian Coordinator  and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme.
